Sharon M. Gum, CPA, lacked digital presence. With a new website, full GBP optimization, content, reviews, and consistent brand authority building, we grew her Google Search visibility 101%, Maps views 62%, and calls by 56%.
Sharon M. Gum, CPA, is a Southern Illinois accounting firm serving small businesses. Focused on business advisory, tax, and payroll, they were restricted by a complete absence of online assets—no website, no optimized social profiles, and an unclaimed Google Business Profile (GBP). To reach clients searching locally, they needed to position themselves as a trusted CPA, visible across Monroe County. Redefine Web introduced foundational digital assets, from their first responsive website to fully optimized Maps and search presence, allowing the business to dominate local visibility.
At the project kickoff, Sharon M. Gum, CPA’s challenge was one often seen in smaller practices—no digital footprint whatsoever. This meant no organic keyword capture, no inbound leads from search, and almost no authority in Google Maps. Their GBP was unclaimed and mis-categorized, excluding them from critical map-pack rankings. They had no reviews, which meant they lacked client trust signals compared to their competitors. Their existing Facebook page was misbranded and inactive. Each of these meant they were invisible to qualified local prospects despite high-value search traffic. Without websites or GBP ranking presence, digital competition dominated simply by showing up.
Redefine Web introduced a digital foundation: building their first WordPress site, siloing relevant services & locations, and implementing technical SEO. We claimed and optimized the GBP, added categories and reviews strategy, and created weekly content, alongside a Google Maps campaign. Press releases and local citation networks reinforced the practice’s authority, positioning it ahead of competitors.
Key Steps:
From total invisibility, Sharon M. Gum, CPA transformed into a dominant local authority within 12 months. Optimized GBP listings, review campaigns, new content structures, and consistent brand building gave the firm newfound competitive edge—leading to 101% growth in search visibility and consistent new inbound leads.
