This privacy policy for Redefine Web LLC (“We”, “Us”, or “Our”) tells you how we may collect, use, and share your information when you visit our website at https://redefineweb.com/.

What information we collect about you

When we collect information, we do so to make sure you get to experience our service smoothly. We collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Company or agency name
  • Business details you choose to give us on a form, such as your budget or monthly ad spend, your Google Ads customer ID, the competitors you want compared, and what you want us to improve
  • Location data

  • The information that we automatically collect from you

Information you give us

When you sign up for an account to use our service or product we will ask you certain questions such as your name or email address. These are the information you give us directly. This may not be limited to the items above and can change based on the nature of the service or product we provide.

Information we collect automatically

When you access our service from a device, we may automatically collect information from that device, such as through cookies. You will learn more about automatic collection of personal information in the next section.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small packets of information that are placed on your device, so that we can retrieve information about you such as your login details, your choices on our websites, and other information.

Why we collect information about you

We collect information about you for a variety of reasons. It helps us, among other things, to serve you better. The following are the ways we use the information we collect:

  • To provide and maintain the service
  • To perform a contract with us
  • To send marketing and promotional communications
  • To manage user requests related to business transfers, such as when our business is acquired, merged, restructured, or sold or transferred to another entity, in whole or in part
  • To manage your account
  • To contact you
  • To evaluate and improve our products and services

How long we retain your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes set out in this notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). Some records have their own published retention periods. The Google Analytics cookies listed in our cookie policy last up to 2 years.

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize the data, or, if that is not possible (for example, because your information has been stored in backup archives), we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

Do we share your information?

We may share your information with third parties in the following ways:

  • Service providers: We use a small number of outside services to run the website and to deliver what you ask for. MillionVerifier receives the email address you type into a form, so we can check it is deliverable before the form is accepted. Calendly receives your name and email address when you reach a booking widget from an audit confirmation, so the booking form is prefilled. Google Analytics measures site usage, as described in our cookie policy.
  • Sharing with your consent: When you give consent, we may share your information with third parties for the purposes mentioned in the consent notification.
  • Legal obligations: We may disclose information where we are legally required to do so in order to comply with applicable law, governmental requests, judicial proceedings, court orders, or legal process, including in response to a court order or subpoena.
  • For business transfers: We may share your personal information in connection with, or during negotiations regarding, a merger, sale of business assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a part of our business by another entity.

When you ask for an audit, the details you give on the form are sent to our own audit system at app.redefineweb.com. That is a Redefine Web system on our own domain, not a third party, and the information stays with us.

Sale or sharing of information

We do not sell the information we collect from our users, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. The ways we do share and disclose information are set out in Do we share your information? and Disclosure of personally sensitive information.

Disclosure of personally sensitive information

We do not disclose personally sensitive information for purposes other than the following:

  • To perform services or deliver goods.
  • To prevent, detect, and investigate security incidents that compromise the availability, authenticity, integrity, or confidentiality of stored or transmitted personal information.
  • To resist malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal actions directed at the business and to prosecute those responsible for such actions.
  • To help ensure the safety of natural persons.
  • For short-term, transient use, including non-personalized advertising shown as part of a consumer’s current interaction with the business.
  • To perform services on behalf of the business.
  • To verify or maintain the quality or safety of a product, service, or device and to improve or upgrade them.
  • To collect or process sensitive personal information where such collection or processing is not for the purpose of inferring characteristics about a consumer.

GDPR disclosures

Automatic processing of data

We use Google Analytics 4 to measure site usage automatically, as described in our cookie policy. We do not use it to build advertising audiences, for remarketing, or to identify you personally, and we do not make automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Legal basis for the collection

The General Data Protection Regulation requires us to identify the legal basis, or in other words the legal justification, for processing your personal information. The following are the legal bases on which we process your personal data.

Consent: We may process your personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy with your consent.

Performance of a contract: Where we have entered into a contract with you, we may use the personal information collected from you to fulfill the terms of that contract.

Your rights

In accordance with Articles 12 to 23 of the General Data Protection Regulation, the data subject (that is, you) has the following rights:

  • Right to request access to the data we have collected about you and to receive a copy of it in an accessible format.
  • Right to restrict the processing of your personal data for a limited period, under certain circumstances. See here for details.
  • Right to rectify or modify personal information that you consider obsolete, incomplete, or inaccurate.
  • Right to opt out of automated processing of your personal data.
  • Right to erasure of your personal information, also known as the right to be forgotten.

We require your consent to collect information in order to provide our services to you. You may refuse consent. Please note that refusing consent may have consequences, including limited access to our services and reduced features on the website.

Privacy of children

We do not knowingly provide our services to children. If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that your child has provided us with information without your consent, please contact us. Upon verification, we will remove the information from our database.

Your rights

The California Consumer Privacy Act grants consumers the following rights:

  • The right to know what personal information a business has collected about them, including the categories of personal information collected, the sources it was collected from, the purposes for collecting or sharing it, the categories of third parties it was disclosed to, and the specific pieces of personal information collected.
  • The right to delete personal information that the business has collected from the consumer, subject to certain exceptions.
  • The right to correct inaccurate personal information that a business maintains about the consumer.
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, if the business sells or shares such information.
  • The right to limit the use or disclosure of sensitive personal information if the business uses or discloses it for purposes other than those permitted under the CCPA or its regulations.
  • The right to non-discrimination, meaning consumers will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising their CCPA rights, including protection against retaliation for employees, applicants, or independent contractors who exercise such rights.

Exercising your rights

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act you have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we have collected about you. You may also have the right to know specific details about how we collect, use, disclose, and sell or share your personal information.

When you make a request, we will take steps to verify your identity before fulfilling it, which may include asking you to provide certain identifying information. You may also authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf, provided we receive proof of your authorization.

We will respond to your request within 45 days, as permitted by law, and will inform you if additional time is required. There is no charge for processing your verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive or repetitive.

Security of your personal information

We take reasonable measures to make sure the information we collect from you is stored securely and protected to the best extent possible. However, no method of internet transmission or digital storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. While we use commercially reasonable security measures to protect your information, we cannot promise that it will be 100% secure.
